Transportable optical clocks in space and ground application

Duration of the contract: 12 months (from February 2012 to January 2013)

Competition for a scholarship of one year and 44,683 euros based on qualifications and interview within the project Transportable Optical Clocks.

It is a competition based on qualifications and interview for the award of a scholarship funded by LENS and Regione Toscana (European funds), within the project "Transportable Optical Clocks", for the realization of the program entitled "Transportable optical clocks in space and ground application" for a period of one year and a gross amount of 44,683.00 euros, to be performed at European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy, Via Nello Carrara, 1 - Sesto Fiorentino (Florence).

Requirements: Master Degree in Physics or PhD in similar subjects and experience in development of atomic sensors, such as optical clocks or atomic inteferometers.

In the application the candidate must declare, under his own responsibility, who he is, the date and place of birth, social security number, residence and domicile of choice for purposes of the competition, his telephone number and the qualification obtained, the date, the seat of achievement and the grade in the final exam. The competitor must also attach to the application a copy of the thesis, a curriculum Vitae et Studiorum and any other certificate deemed useful.

Filled application form should be sent to the Secretariat of LENS Director, Via Nello Carrara, 1 - Sesto Fiorentino (Florence) by 1:00pm on January 10th, 2012, under penalty of exclusion from the selection.

The interview date is set to 12:00am of January 23th, 2012 at European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy, Via Nello Carrara, 1 - Sesto Fiorentino (Florence).
