Creation of Stark-decelerated cold molecular beams for comb-assisted Ramsey excitation

Within a FIRB project funded by the Italian MIUR, the INO "Precision Molecular Spectroscopy" Research Group invites applications for a 3-years contract.
Settling into the current vivacious debate on the constancy of fundamental constants, the FIRB project "Cold fluoromethane molecules for ultra-high resolution ro-vibrational spectroscopy assisted by optical frequency comb synthesizers: A laboratory test of the constancy of the proton-to-electron mass ratio", funded by the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research (MIUR), aims at constraining the fractional temporal variation of the proton-to-electron mass ratio at a 10-15/yr-level by combining the emerging strategies for the production of cold and decelerated stable molecules with the cutting-edge spectroscopic interrogation techniques assisted by optical frequency comb synthesizers.
To be eligible, the applicant should be in possession of a Master degree in Physics or Chemistry and of a PhD degree (Physics or Chemistry) or a three-years research experience in the field of Atomic and/or Molecular and/or Optical Physics.
