Our group is focused on the study of the optical response of nanostructured electronic, photonic and plasmonic systems. Nano-structuring materials is an essential ingredient to manipulate, control and tailor the light - matter interaction. Main activities under study are: quantum dots and extrinsic defects in semiconductor for generating quantum states of light, near field optics for imaging the electric and magnetic field in high Q and small volume photonic crystal nanocavities, nano-fluidic to control and tune the photonic modes, plasmonic tip to map light interaction at the nanometer scale, silicon functionalization by carbon nanotubes for optoelectronic devices, GaN based nanostructures for efficient emitters in the blue and improved lighting.
